STOWA offers four variations of this sporty and elegant chronograph, without necessarily pioneering new designs.
Walter Storz, who started the brand in 1927 and named it after himself, saw it as a generalist. They also made chronographs, including one with a unique “panda look” around 1968, which was unusual at the time.
The Sellita SW510 in the new STOWA “Tempora” is both strong and dependable. It has features like escapement coupling, cam control for start, stop, and reset functions, a unidirectional winding ball-bearing rotor, and a four Hertz balance frequency. It offers around 62 hours of power reserve, a balance wheel stop for precise time setting, and a date window at 6 o’clock. The movement is beautifully finished with Geneva stripes, rhodium plating, and blue screws, visible through the sapphire crystal case back of the 44mm stainless steel case. It’s water-resistant up to ten bar pressure.
The STOWA “Tempora” features a double anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the front, protecting its dial styled after the former STOWA “Chrono.” The hour and minute hands bring a touch of nostalgia. The open-worked lugs are a standout feature of the case. For comfort on the wrist, the eight-fold screwed-in case back allows it to sit flat on a table. This watch comes in various dial colors and case finishes. You can choose between pure stainless steel with a solid black dial or a two-tone luminous dial, known as the inverted “panda look.”
You have options for straps: a stainless steel link bracelet or a vintage-style calfskin strap, both with a secure folding clasp. There’s also a version with black DLC coating and a classic “panda look” dial in black or green. STOWA offers these models with a comfortable calfskin strap and folding clasp. Each of the four options honours STOWA’s history but is firmly grounded in modern technology.
